Payroll Officer - 2 days per week

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer and working closely with the Human Resources Manager, you will perform a range of payroll duties including the processing of timesheets, creating new employee profiles and monitoring leave requests. As a Payroll Officer you will remain relevant with industry knowledge and ensure compliance in align with Hospitality Industry General Award legislation. The successful applicant will possess the ability to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

 

  • Accurately enter data into the payroll system
  • Issue and record adjustments to pay related issues from previous pay periods.
  • Efficiently record employee information such as exemptions, transfers, contact details and resignations.
  • Accurately monitor and record all leave (annual, personal, long service, lieu days) accrued and taken by each employee. Advise the employee’s Department Head of any discrepancies, outstanding balances and/or zero balances.
  • Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters and tax issues.
  • Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
  • Assist the Human Resources Department where possible

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a similar role within a Hotel/Resort environment, processing 300+ employees
  • Experience using Payroll and Time and Attendance systems (MicroPay & Time Target desirable)
  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Looking to progress in the finance industry, looking to learn all aspects
  • Must be available to work Monday and Tuesday (payroll) and if required extra work in the Finance department in the future.
  • Must be available for an immediate start
  • Ability to complete basic HR administration tasks to support the Human Resources department and employees
