About the opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic person for a part time role as our Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Family Support Worker.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren works to support grandparents and other kin carers to build positive family relationships, build strong community networks and to be the best families they can be. This role will require both one on one outreach support, some group work, outgoing referrals and community networking.

About you

The successful applicant needs:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Community Services or any relevant allied health discipline
  • Experience in the delivery of family support services both in a one-on-one or group environment
  • Knowledge of attachment theory, trauma informed practice and early childhood development
  • Skills, knowledge and experience in working with families to provide parenting support, education and capacity building.
  • Experience in working therapeutically with individuals and families
  • Self-motivation, time management skills and able to work autonomously
  • The commitment and capacity to work within the ethos of the Uniting Church
