China Lion has releases approx 30 of China's biggest and most popular films each year through long-standing partnerships with Australia & NZ's leading cinema multiplex exhibitors EVENT, Greater Union, HOYTS, Village and other leading independent cinemas.

Position: Arts Manager

Location: Sydney CBD office

Report to: Director

Remuneration: $60,000 per annum, plus Super

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Public relation management: seek and maintain partnerships and sponsorship for the company, generating publicity for films in Chinese media, maintaining strong relationships with Chinese corporate and embassy 
  2. Budget management including planning media budget for each China Lion film 
  3. Oversee the development of China’s films’ market
  4. Review and monitor all films and titles
  5. Promotion of upcoming film releases through social media such as China Lion Weibo, WeChat, YouTube, Facebook
  6. Negotiation and co-ordination with media 
  7. Developing and implementing consumer promotions 
  8. Social media management, such as answering and posting regular updates 
  9. Graphic design on advertisements, poster, flyers, voucher etc.
  10. Materials and artwork management
  11. Managing on-ground local grassroots team
  12. Daily updates and distribution of box-office summary reports 
  13. Classification (AU and NZ) submissions.
  14. Ensure all requirements are completed to the highest professional standards and are compliant with all legislation.
  15. Translation is required 

 

Key Requirements of the position:

  1. At least 2 years’ relevant experience 
  2. Tertiary education in arts or films studies 
  3. Strong problem solving and negotiation skills, with a solutions-based approach;
  4. Ability to communicate, negotiate and develop relationships with a broad range of people, both internal and external to the organization, in a professional and ethical manner;
  5. Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills;
  6. Must speak and read fluent Mandarin
  7. Demonstrated experience in the management of social media and knowledge of platforms
  8. Understanding of Chinese media and different types of journalism
  9. Basic graphic skills for updating and posting images on social media
  10. Some movie editing skills (not essential)
  11. Enthusiasm for Chinese movies
