About the business
Combined Monitoring Centre (CMC) is a well-established (1996), Grade A1 (AS2201.2) privately-owned company specialising in security monitoring services. The directors of the company and management are all long term security professionals dedicated to the provision of professional monitoring services. In the past two years the facilities at CMC have been upgraded. We have an ongoing commitment to improvement of processes and data bases to ensure the service we provide to our customers and end users is of a high quality and that the role played by our monitoring team is rewarding and satisfying.
About the role
We monitor security systems and other signalling devices which transmit the data to our monitoring software. The software determines if it an event that requires it to be reported by telephone to nominated contacts (eg the client direct, security guards, Police, Fire, Local Government rangers, etc) or whether we report the events via emailed Work Order to our Bureau service agents. Although the software makes the process quite straight-forward, there is a requirement for analytical thought processes and situational awareness.
This is a shift work position and, after a training period, will drop into a rotational roster. As we operate 24/7 this will require evening, night and weekend work.
The predominant aspect of the role is responding to events presented by the software. Our AS2201.2 Grading makes it mandatory that we meet compliance response times for particular types of events. Some high priority events are required to be responded to immediately by calling relevant contacts and advising. This requires an ability to multi-task. Other lower priority/routine events are able to be dealt with in a less immediate timeframe. All team members are required to be involved in other key duties such as data entry, filing and other tasks as required.
We are a relative small team and the contribution of each person in that team is important and valued.
