Events Coordinator

Carnival Australia is part of the world's largest leisure travel company and home to iconic brands including P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Cunard, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Seabourn. 

This fast-paced position will be responsible for coordinating events for Carnival Australia and our individual cruise line brands, to support and maximise public relations activity. The successful candidate will provide administrative and general support for a broad range of events and PR activities, managed by the Carnival Australia events team. 

This position will work with the Events Director and Events Manager, to coordinate the end to end delivery of both land-based and shipboard events. Responsibilities include:

  • creating and managing invitation lists and the RSVP and event check-in process
  • working with ship management, various internal departments, contractors and agencies to plan and execute events
  • assembling event packs for the events team, senior management and talent
  • briefing talent and their management on requirements
  • coordinating TV, advertising and social media film shoots
  • administering elements of Carnival Australia's charity/community program ‘Carnival Cares'
  • compiling and submitting various forms required for shipboard events plus processing security lists as required
  • coordinating payments to suppliers, as well as creating/managing event and project budgets 

We seek applications from highly energetic and personable event coordinators with 1-2 years' experience who bring:

  • exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks to deliver to tight deadlines
  • high initiative with the ability to troubleshoot and work with minimum supervision
  • strong communication skills, both verbal and written; a superb attention to detail
  • proven ability to form relationships and deliver high quality outcomes for internal and external stakeholders
  • demonstrated ability to operate within a highly dynamic and changing environment
  • resilience, with the ability to work under pressure
  • flexibility to work outside standard business hours and on weekends as required
  • current valid passport, with the ability to travel across Australia and New Zealand as required
