About the opportunity

As the manager, ICT Application Technology, you will be responsible for working collaboratively within Uniting ICT and across Uniting’s divisions to ensure the effective design, establishment, delivery, management and support of enterprise Application technology.

The Application technology and services are cloud based and delivered over an SD-WAN supporting 250+ sites and thousands of users using thin and traditional delivery models.

You will be using best practice strategies to underpin the Uniting business services that are critical in the achievement of Uniting’s strategic goals.

This is an essential role, with a unique opportunity to help shape the modern pplication management space in the area of:

  • Application delivery and hosting
  • Cloud database platforms architecture and development
  • Application Performance, development and monitoring
  • Authentication and authorization strategies
  • Risk identification and mitigation
  • Recovery strategies

You will assist in maintaining operational excellence within a large and complex service organization that is undergoing significant technology transformation. 

This position will work in partnership with other ICT professionals demonstrating  knowledge and skills in the methods, frameworks, practices, standards and governance for the planning, management and delivery of Application services and related technologies.

Additionally, you will work closely within the ICT team in the assessment and effective rationalisation of requirements across a diverse range of services and sites while concurrently managing relationships and expectations of a large stakeholder base.

About you

You have, in your previous role, demonstrated experience in defining, procuring and delivering effective Applications and related delivery controls and risk mitigations in both on-premise and in cloud environments, including an ability to undertake capacity planning and performance monitoring.

You have a collaborative approach and the ability to manage a small team and develop and influence a change agenda to a range of stakeholders, including suppliers, staff and senior management.
