Graduate Mechanical Engineer

EGR's innovative product development has made our automotive accessory products dominant in the domestic and overseas marketplace.  This includes products such as bullbars, side steps, canopies, tonneaus, body kits, and rear spoilers manufactured via means of thermoforming, injection moulding, reaction injection moulding, blow mould and pressed metal technologies.

You will work in our Brisbane head office and the role will see you working within a team of either Engineers or QA specialists. The role will see you involved in areas including project development incorporating parts design, specification, tooling design, customer specific quality documentation, testing, material selection, material and process analysis, liaison with clients, QA, tooling and sub-component sourcing.

The role will typically involve monitoring the approval process of prototypes and development samples for OEM Australian and International car manufacturers and will bring you into direct contact with customers during fitment checks and development issues.

This is a hands on Engineering role and you will be required to communicate with and provide engineering expertise to customers, customer development managers, the CAD department, industrial designers, mould makers and other tradespeople on the factory floor on a regular basis.

The successful applicant must have completed a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design and possess a strong interest in the automotive industry. Ideally you will have up to 2 years post-graduate experience.

In addition, QA, FEA and 3D CAD experience will be highly regarded.  These skills will also need to be complemented by highly developed communication skills and an acute attention to detail.
