Monkii is a respected independent digital agency based in the heart of the CBD. We are seeking an accomplished UX/UI Designer to work on impactful, interesting web projects and craft delightful experiences for our clients.

You will have sound experience presenting pixel perfect, cutting edge concepts to clients whilst understanding the finer interactions required in designing large, complex, responsive websites.

You will be working on well organised projects for high profile national and international clients like The Royal Botanic Gardens, Zoos Victoria and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Check out some of our recent work at

Ideally you will have worked in Agencies previously and are very experienced collaborating with project managers, UX & technical leads, users and clients.

The day-to-day will cover these activities:

  • Develop wireframes, prototypes and finished designs on brand using tools like Sketch and the Adobe suite (Axure knowledge would be a bonus)

  • Develop design systems with developers using Zeplin

  • Communicating & presenting your solid design process that places the user at the heart of your work

  • Problem solving with clients & developers

  • Multi-tasking: you can manage a variety of tasks and projects with a great attention to detail

  • Learning: you will know contemporary interaction trends and bring that to the table with our clients and the broader Monkii team

  • Communicating: You can communicate your process and present your work thoughtfully and creatively

  • Ambition: we want someone invested in furthering their career and having input in perfecting the design process

  • Experience: You will have done this before over the last 6 years and can hit the ground running

Anything else you can bring to the table is a bonus

  • Understanding of HCD, design thinking and lean UX methodologies

  • Experience in user research

  • Motion graphics and the ability to tell a great story
