Fortescue People Advisor 

6-months fixed term Fortescue contract

An opportunity has arisen for a Fortescue People Advisor to join our Solomon operation. Reporting to the Fortescue People Manager, this role will be responsible for providing human resources (HR) and employee relations advice and service on site for the Solomon team.

This opportunity is a FIFO ex Perth to Solomon working a 4:3 days only roster.

Key accountabilities for the position will include:

  • Providing timely advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of HR practices and policies regarding resourcing, remuneration, performance reviews, case management and SAP processes;
  • Providing an objective service for all performance and disciplinary matters, ensuring that procedural fairness is always applied;
  • Liaising with and coaching site leaders regarding annual employee process, including mid-year and end of year performance reviews;
  • Promoting the engagement and retention of Fortescue's Aboriginal workforce;
  • Analysing data and providing ad hoc reports as required; and
  • Contributing to HR projects, initiatives and programs.

 To be considered applicants must have:

  • Solid HR generalist experience, preferably within the mining/resources sector;
  • Knowledge and experience of employee relations and case management compliant with current legislation;
  • Tertiary qualification in HR or a related discipline will be highly desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively within diverse work environments;
  • Knowledge of Fair Work legislation including Awards and Enterprise Agreements; and
  • Experience with SAP advantageous.
