The Position

St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital Finance team is currently seeking an Accounts Officer to provide finance support at the division. 

You will be acting as the Accounts Payable Coordinator, frequently liaising with the Shared Services Accounts Payable and Patient Accounts Officers, and be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Ensuring all hospital supplier invoices are coded and assigned for authorisation in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring all patient account certificates and charges are entered into Webpas for Shared Services Patient Accounts to raise invoices.
  • Preparing all on site sundry debtor requests and rental charges for Shared Services Accounting to process.
  • Cash receipting as applicable.
  • Providing assistance with month end preparation and analysis.
  • Being a point of contact for ward clerks and admission officers in regards to Webpas queries and banking entries.  

This position will be offered on a 6 month temporary part time basis, working 45.6 hours per fortnight (hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant, and would be suitable for applicants seeking school hours).

The successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Basic bookkeeping and accounting skills.
  • Sound interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office capability.
  • Analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to quality and actively seeking to continually improve work processes.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Very strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work and maintain performance in a pressured environment.
  • Previous Oracle experience would be desirable but not essential.
