Administration Officer / Support Worker

About the role
This is a great opportunity to work across two diverse and challenging roles, combining both administration and support work in our busy Service Centre located on Tiwi Island.


As an Administration Officer working 20 hours per week, you will play a key role in liaising with staff, clients and their families by ensuring our administrative activities enable information flow, records management and day-to-day back office functions. We require an all-rounder who thrives on resolving issues while delivering a range of administrative services to our busy team including answering incoming calls, timesheet processing, checking debtor queries/finance, banking and mail.


The remaining 18 hours will be spent as a Support Worker assisting a variety of clients including aged, disability and high needs  with activities of daily living.  Depending if you hold a Certificate III in Inclusion Support, duties will vary and may include providing support services such as Domestic Assistance, Social Support, Specialist Children and Adult Services, Respite and Personal Care.


Travel arrangements will be provided for non Tiwi Island residents. Shared accommodation and meals will be supplied. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.


What you bring 

  • Previous experience in office administration
  • Strong customer service skills with pleasant phone manner
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to cope with multiple demands of phones, emails and schedules
  • Digital literacy skills, in particular excel, emails and word processing with the ability to learn new systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Cert III in Individual Support / HACC / Aged Care / Disability or equivalent
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current and valid Driver's Licence and smart mobile phone
