Training & Checking Pilots

We’ve been part of the Australian life for generations. Territorian through and through, we’ve been mastering Australia’s northern skies for over 40 years. Where others have given up, we never have — continuously enabling prosperity for communities, families, businesses and our entire region. You could say that we can reach the parts that others can’t — helping people be in the moments that matter. Helping the adventurous discover a different kind of Australia and helping determined people to unlock the incredible potential of the north. We prefer saying ‘give it a go’ more than the word ‘no’. Together, we make it happen. Together, we fly.

Airnorth operates a fleet of Embraer EMB 120 Brasilia Aircraft and are recruiting for experienced Type Rated and Non-Type Rated Training & Checking Pilots. As Training and Checking Pilot’s, your work may see you conduct type ratings, Line Training, command upgrades, remedial and recency training for Airnorth aircrew.

What we look for:

  • A current Australian issued ATPL (A);
  • Valid Class 1 Medical;
  • Minimum of 2000 hours total aeronautical experience, including a current multi-crew Aircraft type rating and a minimum of 500 flying hours as Pilot in Command;
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in flight training, operations and aircraft technical systems;
  • Prior experience within a Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) organisation conducting:
    • Line Training or Checking;
    • Simulator Training or Checking;
    • Ground School Instruction
  • Above average results required in all Flight Proficiency Checks conducted in the last 12 months;
  • Demonstrated communication skills – written and verbal;
  • A Current Passport with nil restrictions;
  • Ability to hold a current Aviation Security Identify Card (ASIC).

Applicants must also meet the company’s minimum experience levels defined within the company Training and Checking Manual.

Airnorth offers a range of employee benefits including discounts on international travel, health insurance, gym memberships and an employee assistance program. To apply for this position you must have the legal right to live and work in Australia and, as shortlisting will commence immediately, we reserve the right to close this position earlier than stated.
