Member Relationship Officer - G&C Mutual Bank - Melbourne

About the Organisation

G&C Mutual Bank, is a different kind of bank, built around a big idea - It’s your bank, because you own it. Every one of their members is an owner with a voice and a say in their future. They make responsible, ethical decisions that benefit members and the community, and reinvest profits to provide better products and services for members.

Established in 1959, the organisation has since grown to be one of Australia’s strongest performing member-owned financial institutions. Having built a team that values service, teamwork and integrity, they focus on performance and continuous improvement and work collaboratively to get it right.

About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing growth, the organisation now has a fantastic opportunity for a Member Relationship Officer to join their Melbourne Exhibition Street service centre. This is a full-time position working on a rotating roster spanning 8am-6pm.

This is a customer facing role that will see you providing efficient and professional member service via face-to-face, telephone and other digital channels. This will include the handling of day-to-day transactional banking requirements of members (i.e. account opening/closing, money transfers etc.), whilst identifying opportunities to cross sell and promote products and services at every opportunity.

Some of your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Building relationships with members, optimising all interactions with a view to understanding the members' complete financial needs and creating opportunities to provide a 'total solution' which strengthens member relationships;
  • Assisting members with routine account-related requests in a timely manner;
  • Being an ambassador of the brand, promoting the organisation to existing and potential new members with a particular focus on converting these interactions into referrals across the product offering; and
  • Maintaining current knowledge of financial products and services, along with an understanding of the general financial environment, in order to provide feedback on product development or identify marketing opportunities.

About the Benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a "customer first" mentality, looking for a role that offers variety and a professional team environment.

You will be welcomed by a small but friendly team who will help you on your path to success. Comprehensive training will facilitate your onboarding experience and you can take advantage of ongoing career progression prospects as you grow and prove yourself within the organisation. A range of financial and lifestyle benefits are also accessible, including product discounts, paid volunteer leave and the option to cash out annual leave.
