Marketing & Media Coordinator

United Synergies is a not-for-profit organisation that started in 1989 to help address youth homelessness in Noosa. We have grown substantially since then and now work across South East Queensland making a difference across four core areas:

  • Mental Health
  • Child Safety
  • Homelessness
  • Suicide Prevention

Our StandBy program provides support after suicide to individuals and communities across Australia.

We have a great opportunity available for a Marketing & Media Coordinator to join the Marketing and StandBy Support After Suicide teams, located in Tewantin and Noosaville. 

This position will report to the Communications & Marketing Manager and primarily support the StandBy Support After Suicide team in delivering targeted brand marketing, media, and social media marketing initiatives to raise awareness of the incredible work we do.

This role will suit someone who is an experience marketing and media professional, and an excellent content creator, who enjoys liaising with a wide range of people and uncovering and telling compelling stories. 

The Successful Applicant will have the following:

  • Relevant marketing tertiary qualifications with considerable digital marketing and social media marketing experience. Experience in the NFP  and suicide prevention sector will be highly regarded. 
  • Brand marketing and media liaison skills.
  • Strong story-telling, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interviewing, creative writing, content creation, and photography skills.
  • Highly developed attention to detail and proof reading skills.
  • Ability to actively engage and gain buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Results driven with a passion to support team members.
  • Demonstrated history of exceptional time management skills.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in brand, media and social media marketing within public or private sector organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing target media releases/ stories and liaising with journalists.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop engaging content for digital and social media marketing campaigns.
  • Strong story-telling, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly developed attention to detail and proof reading skills.
  • A high level of initiative and resourcefulness and the ability to engage effectively with sector specific stakeholders, acting in the best interest of United Synergies, StandBy Support After Suicide and our clients.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, oral and written communication skills and conflict resolution skills
  • An understanding, or ability to acquire, non-profit governance experience.
  • Hold a current ‘C’ class driver licence.
  • Hold, or be eligible to apply for, a Blue Card issued by the Public Safety Business Agency.
  • Hold, or be eligible to apply for an Application for Suitability Check by the Queensland Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.
