A rare and exciting opportunity is available in Townsville for a talented and multi-skilled communicator to join our Corporate Relations team that supports Wilmar companies across Australia and New Zealand.

We are looking for a Communication and Marketing Officer with the skill set and enthusiasm to match the varied tasks facing our experienced managers of Media and Growers Communication; Community Relations and Internal Communication; Strategic Communication and Stakeholder Engagement; and Government Relations.

This is the ideal role for someone who wants to work and develop across the full range of integrated corporate communication in a supportive professional team environment.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have very strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.

We are looking for someone who can work comfortably and competently in digital and social media as well as traditional print media. We are looking for the communicator who understands that internal audiences and external audiences are often diverse and dispersed.

Ultimately, the person we choose for this role will not only write well and have an eye for detail, they will be creative and innovative in their communication ideas and practices.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Qualifications in journalism, marketing or related integrated communication disciplines;
  • At least 12 months experience in business or industry corporate communication or marketing role;
  • Media and event management experience;
  • agribusiness stakeholder relations experience preferable.
