Media & Communications Advisor

Hope & Glory is delighted to be working with Scope in their search for a Media & Communications Advisor. This is a full-time, permanent position located in their stunning head office space in Hawthorn.

Scope is a not-for-profit organisation supporting individuals with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities and developmental delays to achieve their goals, providing services to thousands of people across more than 100 locations. Operating within the new National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) environment, Scope is on a journey to evolve its capabilities – this position will be critical in helping to shape that evolution and growth.

To be considered for this role, your application likely shows the following:
  • Experience project managing PR and buzz campaigns, including events
  • A proven track record of planning and delivering successful media campaigns
  • Experience across media relations and an excellent understanding of the media and the news cycle
  • Exposure to issues and crisis management communications
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships with trust and credibility
  • Sharp writing skills and the ability to absorb complex information and distil it for a range of audiences
  • Experience in the not-for-profit or government sector would be highly regarded.
As an applicant, you are a skilled and confident media practitioner who is finely attuned to the social, political, business and media landscape. You are able to provide sound advice on media activities and issues in an environment that is constantly moving.

Your work style is collegiate, passionate and mature. You demonstrate resilience under pressure and pragmatism in your general approach. Your high energy levels will match the operating rhythm of the team in which you will sit.

We ask that you please consider your suitability against the criteria outlined above and then apply online. All applications will be acknowledged, and your interest will be treated in strictest confidence.

Please note that as part of Hope & Glory's standard pre-employment process, background checking including criminal history, qualifications verification and rights to work checks will be conducted. A Working with Children Check is also a requirement for this organisation.

As Scope’s retained recruitment partner, all direct and third-party applications will be redirected back to Hope & Glory for assessment.

For questions, please call Rebecca Perrone on 0401 933 330 (Monday to Friday, 8am and 6pm only please).
