Celebrating over 60 years of excellence, Polivac International is locally owned and is a leading manufacturer of commercial floor cleaning equipment.   Located in Kensington we are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant/Admin to join our team on a part-time basis.

About the role

As the Accounts Assistant/Admin, you will report to the Bookkeeper/Office Manager. With a versatile set of responsibilities, you will be highly suited to this opportunity if you enjoy working in a dynamic and team-work environment and savvy with paperless technology. This is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background who is also happy to be hands on with general administration. 3 year experience in a similar role is essential.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Debtors Function:

  • Daily receipting of debtors payments
  • Follow up debtors’ queries
  • Manage the stop credit list
  • Manage credit requests from new distributors

Creditors Functions:

  • Match invoices to purchase orders, goods receipts and data entry
  • Manage weekly and monthly payment runs
  • Reconcile supplier statements to creditors ledger
  • Follow up supplier queries

Payroll Functions

  • Process weekly payroll for all employees
  • Update employees personal files according to company guidelines
  • Process employees’ sick leave, annual leave and other leaves accruals
  • Process Superannuation payments

Other General Duties:

  • General journal postings
  • Support Bookkeeper with budgeting, ATO and BAS returns
  • Complete all bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Relieve duties for other office and sales staff
  • Assist with periodic stock takes
  • Maintain office supplies
  • Roll over month end

Skills and experience:

  • Accounting experience is essential 
  • Proficiency in Attache is preferred
  • Ability to work confidently in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • High level computer skills with a paperless approach
  • Work autonomously is a must
