Food Services Assistant | Racecourse Grange Aged Care

Australian Unity is going through an exciting phase of innovative change with the commissioning of a brand new Aged Care Facility opening its doors in the coastal haven of Mornington in May 2019.

Racecourse Grange will be a purpose built 127 bed Aged Care Facility that provides state of the art care including designated Care Companions to each resident.

 

Coupled with our Better Together model, residents will truly be able to partner with teams to create their own care plans, schedules and ensure that they are living their lives the way that they want to.

 

With the Better Together model and its purpose, the facility will not just be an Aged Care Facility; it will be the resident’s home and we are seeking the best talent to make this possible.

The Role –

The Food Services Assistant will play a key role with the facilities catering. With responsibility for hygiene standards in the kitchen, you will also assist with serving meals to residents and at times preparation of meals.

What you will be doing –

  • Using previous knowledge, ensure food hygiene standards are met and exceeded
  • Build relationships with residents and families when serving meals and at times preparing requested meals or snacks in line with our “Better Together Promise”
  • Have an understanding of specific dietary requirements
  • Work as part of a team to deliver meals that promote the wellbeing of our residents as well as working with own initiative

What we are looking for –

  • Relevant qualification in safe food handling
  • Prior cooking experience desired
  • A strong commitment to put customers front and centre and that the highest levels of service are provided
  • A flexible approach to work including availability to work a variety of different shifts
