Employee Relations Assistant

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Employee Relations Assistant to join the HR team. This role will have a variety of duties including the review and maintenance of HR policies and procedures, providing support for our daily HR activities and liaising with external employment relation service providers and internal stakeholders. Reporting to the Payroll Director this role is located in our Corporate Head Office in Minchinbury, Western Sydney.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working with ALDI’s employment relation service providers, including legal advisors, to provide support on a range of Employee Relations/Industrial relations matters
  • Establishing, implementing and maintaining the ALDI Employee Handbook and HR policies and procedures
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual pay reviews and salary recommendations as required
  • Supporting the Payroll Director to ensure ALDI employment relations services operate in a streamlined and efficient manner in accordance with ALDI’s policies and procedures
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Developing and maintaining an Employee Relations risk register with the assistance of external suppliers
  • Collaborating with the HR Systems and Analytics team to provide detailed analysis on the Employee Relations risk register
  • Facilitating the creation, update and approval process for job descriptions
  • Assisting in the administration of work right status checks via the immigration department
  • Assisting in the preparation, updating and issuing of Employment Contracts outside of the recruitment system
  • Providing administrative support to the Payroll Director as needed

What we’re looking for?

  • Experience working with employment agreements, awards and company policies
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Fair Work Act, NES, WHS legislation, IR/ER laws and modern Awards 
  • A person of integrity who can demonstrate experience in dealing with highly sensitive information
  • High level of attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels

*Includes superannuation. Remuneration varies depending on ALDI experience.
