The Royal Sydney Golf Club is a private members club which was founded in 1893. It is recognised nationally and internationally for its world class facilities which include two golf courses, 18 tennis courts, bowling greens, croquet lawns, 2 squash courts, a gym, two pools, several cafés, a fine dining restaurant, accommodation rooms and multiple function.

This role will be a 2 week rotating roster, one week working 6am -2pm Tuesday to Friday (4 days) and the following week 8am -4pm Monday- to Thursday (4 days)

Reporting into the Property Services Manager, you will carry out a wide range of maintenance throughout the Clubhouse and surrounding areas.

Duties & Responsibilities               

  • Carry out all maintenance and handyman duties in Clubhouse areas.
  • Painting
  • Basic electrical work (light globes)
  • Working with heights (ladders/roof)
  • Basic plumbing (washers/toilets)
  • Manual handling of heavy objects
  • Use machinery, equipment and tools in a correct and safe manner.
  • Comply with the Club’s operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Maintain records of repair work.
  • Demonstrate sound communication skills and the ability to work as a team.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in good working order, liaising closely with the Property Services Manager.
  • Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Must be of a trade background with experience in Club or Hotel maintenance.
  • Experience using power tools.
  • Experienced with all hand tools.
  • Experienced with painting.
  • Experienced in working with heights and using ladders and on roofs.
  • Understanding the basic electrical work.
  • Understanding the basics of plumbing
  • Must be flexible (available to work weekends and the holiday season).
  • Ability to manage and prioritise several tasks at once.
  • Unlimited working rights
