About Us

WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) is the peak planning and commissioning body for primary health care services in Western Australia (WA), with an annual turnover exceeding $100 million.

We oversee the strategic commissioning functions WA's three Primary Health Networks: Perth North, Perth South and Country WA.

WAPHA's primary objective is to improve health outcomes and patient experiences through the commissioning of appropriate services where they are most needed.

The role

The Regional Coordinator manages and undertakes key Primary Health Network (PHN) or WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) projects and programs.

The Regional Coordinator will work with the Regional Manager and Primary Health Liaisons to develop place-based approaches to primary care in the sub region and across the PHN. Key responsibilities are around commissioning and contract management of those commissioned services, project management, and understanding and improving the health system in the assigned metro region.

We have two Regional Coordinator roles available:

  • 1 x Full Time contract until 30th June 2021
  • 1 x Full Time 12-month Parental Leave contract starting approximately August 2019

Both roles are based in our Rivervale office. 

About you

The successful candidate will meet the following selection criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in health or human services or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
  • Demonstrated capacity to negotiate with a range of stakeholders and not-for-profit organisations including a demonstrated ability to communicate with and present to diverse groups;
  • High level understanding of the health system, both in WA and on a national scale including current trends in health policy reform and health care funding programs 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated report writing and experience in consultation with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management and a demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes through identifying key objectives and priorities.

Candidates with the following selection criteria will be highly regarded:

  • Knowledge and awareness of access to primary health care services in and around the Perth North or South PHN regions
  • Strong contract management experience
  • High level of computer literacy included proficiency in Microsoft Office;
