Data Product Owner

CoreLogic is a leading property information, analytics and services provider in the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Regionally CoreLogic is the largest provider of property information, analytics and property related risk management services across Australia and New Zealand. 

In this role, you will be the   key stakeholder for the Data Development team who builds and maintains large and complex IT systems used to develop data-related products and services. Part of the PO’s responsibilities is to have a vision of what they wish to build and convey that vision to the team as well as the wider Business.  This role would ideally suit a technical PO, or a technical Business Analyst looking to make the move into a Product Owner role. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Create and publish development roadmaps in line with overall data functions annual strategic goals
  • Create and maintain a backlog of user stories relevant to overarching roadmaps
  • Run regular prioritization sessions with Product, Data and/or Sales stakeholders and act as a SME for the supported datasets (NZ real estate focus).
  • Publish team deliveries, release notifications and milestones reached on a regular basis
  • Management of a robust request process
  • Help facilitate internal and external requests
  • Deliver product announcements and updates
  • Ensure the Business Analyst(s) working in the development team are creating clear and concise requirements typically in the form of epics and stories in line with the PO’s vision
  • Ensure key system health metrics are developed, maintained and met.  Key metrics to be agreed with the Sr. Product Owner – Data Development 
  • Ensure developments meet minimum operational requirements where required
  • Work with the team to triage, investigate and respond to technical queries (SQL skills mandatory)
  • Be a data SME within the business

Requirements for this role:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to facilitate discussions & negotiate with stakeholders at various levels ranging from junior developers to Executive level
  • Ability to convey a message and share a vision to both technical and non-technical audience
  • Intermediate SQL querying skills and reporting skills mandatory
  • Highly organised and ability to multi-task and respond positively to change
  • Exposure to SQL development and deployment well regarded
  • Proven work experience in business requirements, documentation and/or as a product owner/manager

Desirable Experience Required:

  • 3+ years' experience in working in data-related (back-end) technical teams
  • Local work experience preferred
