Promotions and Entertainment Coordinator

The Organisation

Canterbury’s Sales and Marketing department is in search of a Promotions and Entertainment Coordinator to represent Canterbury and other amalgamated venues. This position is ideal for somebody with experience in a similar role or environment, with a passion for entertainment and customer service.

The Role

This position will be responsible for overseeing the Promotions and Entertainment portfolio within the Sales and Marketing department and will manage the day to day running of Canterbury’s annual Promotions and Entertainment program, whilst supervising a team of employees.

The role assumes responsibility for the following:

  • Oversee and coordinate operational requirements for all entertainment shows
  • Liaise with local institutions e.g. nursing homes to coordinate regular day visits for patrons inclusive of entertainment and food and beverage offerings
  • Seek opportunities to book promotions designed to attract Canterbury’s members whilst overseeing the operational requirements for each event
  • Coordinate regular events such as poker, mah-jong and bingo games and raffles
  • Employ, train and manage the performance of staff within the team
  • Prepare weekly rosters for team members
  • Oversee the planning and operation of special events and functions as and when required
  • Work in conjunction with and assist team members of the marketing department as required
  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers whilst building and maintaining professional rapport

  • Experience in a similar role or relevant transferable skills
  • Availability to work on weekends (essential)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
