Customer Care Consultant

  • Do you enjoy customer service?
  • Work in an award-winning culture!

The Organisation
Yarra Valley Water provides essential water supply and sanitation services to over 1.7 million people who live and work in the northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne. However we do a lot more than just making sure there’s water when you turn on the tap! Working with us, you will be trained in a variety of aspects of the water industry.

The Role
Ours is not a typical contact centre. We empower our Customer Care Consultants to get to know our customers and take the time to really solve their problems. We want to make it easy for our customers, so they don't need to call us again. To do this, you will take ownership of resolving customers' account and billing related enquiries. You will interact with our customers via phone (inbound and outbound calls), as well as email and Web Chat.

You don’t need contact centre experience, but you do need to be truly passionate about helping others. You will enjoy engaging with our customers, be confident in how you speak to people and in making decisions. You will have great computer skills with the ability to pick up new systems quickly.

The Roster
You must be available to work on a rotating roster between 8am and 7pm Monday to Friday. We provide rosters 4-6 weeks in advance, so you’ll always be well aware of what your coming month looks like.

We are open to full time, part time and casual roles, so please indicate your preference when you submit your application.

The Training
Extensive training is provided, starting on 15 July 2019. To be eligible for this role, you must be available to commence on that day and commit to the full-time, 4-week training program, 8:30am to 4:30pm daily.

The Benefits

Our Customer Care Consultants are paid a salary of $44,141 per annum (plus 10% superannuation) for the duration of training. Upon successful completion of training & related assessments, the salary will increase to $49,240 per annum (plus 10% superannuation).

Other awesome benefits of working for YVW include;

  • Supportive, friendly team environment
  • On site cafeteria
  • Free car parking
  • Ongoing coaching & training to assist you in your development
  • Vibrant workplace culture with a strong focus on encouraging and achieving
  • Free flu vaccinations
  • Social events, skill-sharing and networking opportunities

If you feel you’re a good fit and are passionate about providing exemplary customer service, then this could be the role for you. Further information about Yarra Valley Water can be found on our website www.yvw.com.au.

How to apply
Please include a resume in your application. We don’t want you to submit a cover letter - what we do want is to understand your core values, so we will ask you to submit a value statement with your application. The value statement should explain why you want to work with us, what your personal values are and how you think they will align with our organisation.

Successful applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and agree to provide information for pre-employment checks, if required for the position (which may include police records checks).

Closing date
Wednesday 19 June 2019

Yarra Valley Water is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and strongly encourages applications from experienced women and men, people with disabilities, LGBTI, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, and culturally and ethnically diverse candidates.
