Assistant Accountant

This company are currently searching for a high-calibre and technically strong Assistant Accountant. This is a broad role that will give the successful candidate exposure to management reporting, statutory reporting, treasury management and focus on the delivering of accurate financial information. Anyone looking to make a first or second move from Public Practice into the commercial sector would suit this opportunity.

Duties in this role will include, but not be limited to;

  • Support the finance team with all Group companies’ month-end accounting and reporting
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support preparation of statutory accounts
  • Assist in preparation and lodgement of BAS and FBT
  • Provide financial support to CFO and Group FC as required

To be successful in this role, you will need;

  • A comprehensive working knowledge of general finance practices and processes
  • A well-developed service orientation - ability to discover and meet the needs of the customer
  • Financial management in an operation of significant size
  • Ability to work with diversity and varying demands
  • Big 4 or Mid-tier accounting firm background (preferable - Audit experience desirable)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Knowledge of accounting systems
  • A strong work ethic and be self-motivated to succeed
  • An excellent communicator - both written and verbal
  • Studying for or completed Chartered Accountant, Certified Practicing Accountant or equivalent
