Junior Cricket & Zone Administration Coordinator - Cricket ACT

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager – Commercial, Competitions & Operations, the role will be responsible for overseeing and managing all administration functions for the ACT/Southern Districts Cricket Zone. This includes administering the Junior Male Cricket competition, coordinating the Junior Cricket Council and coordinating Holiday Clinics.

The role requires a versatile individual with strong relationship building skills, strict attention to detail and strong organisational skills to support the growth of competitions, develop the quality of the cricket environment and consequently improve player retention. The successful candidate will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone to carry out their duties, and will receive 5 weeks annual leave per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Zone Administration – oversee and manage all administration functions for the ACT/Southern Districts Cricket Zone
  • Junior Male Cricket – administer the competition, providing media & event support and positive leadership to the cricket community in the ACT, ensuring club compliance across the competition
  • Junior Cricket Council – provide administrative support and report on competition strategy to ensure the strategic development of cricket in the ACT progresses in line with expectations
  • Holiday Clinics – liaise with AFL Canberra to facilitate the Holiday Clinic program for Cricket ACT
  • Financial Management – develop and maintain the allocated financial distribution for relevant areas
  • Project Management – lead or participate in projects as required

Essential Requirements

  • Well-developed strategic thinking skills
  • Experience in competition or event management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing work priorities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
  • Outstanding organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong administration skills and experience in taking minutes

The successful candidate will need to hold a current Working with Vulnerable People Card.
