Based in Western Australia with offices and partners across the globe, FBR is a cutting-edge robotic technology company set to revolutionise the construction industry through automation and digitalisation.

With the first Hadrian X robots rolling off the production line, we’re embarking on a rapid growth curve and are looking to continue to add the brightest minds to our team.

OUR OPPORTUNITY

Due to continued growth within the business, FBR are excited to be adding a full time Engineer to join the Mechanical team. Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, this role is perfect for someone that loves technology and wants to be involved in the “next big thing”.

You will contribute to the evolution of FBR’s product development journey working from concept to completion by being part of the team responsible for defining the functional requirements and ensuring the design meets the specifications by associated testing.

To be perfect for the role you will be able to:

  • Design and deliver complex engineering solutions from conceptual design to test, validation and certification
  • Have prior knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas; structural steel fabrication, coatings, precision machining, hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial power transmission.
  • Lead the resolution of complex technical (cross functional) problems to enable project delivery
  • Ensure compliance with document standards, including Specifications, Requirements, Calculations, Test Procedures, Manuals, Reports, etc.
  • Improve product quality by using continuous improvement methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design of Experiments (DoE), Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM/DFA)
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of design standards, procedures and guidelines to support the FBR engineering execution process.

To be perfect for FBR you will have:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronic, Industrial) or equivalent
  • Previous experience in production and manufacturing, preferably in an ERP environment.
  • Knowledge of best practice 3D CAD modelling techniques and document management processes. Creo and Windchill experience beneficial
  • Experience with simulation tools and Finite Element Analysis
  • Demonstrated previous experience in:
    • New product development
    • Workshop and manufacturing environments
  • Advanced Excel and MS Project
  • Flexibility with work hours and be able to work overtime and weekends when required.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and on your own.
  • The desire to work outside your normal scope of works.
  • A positive attitude

You’ll be excited to join a fast growth organisation at grass roots and can foresee the opportunities this unique environment can provide. You’ll need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up and get done whatever is required as your role will often vary outside of your position title.

OUR PEOPLE
All our team members demonstrate innovation and creativity in all work endeavours and live and breathe our vision. They are bright minds; ready to challenge the norm, take risks and question traditional processes. Flexible and inquisitive in nature, they are educated, driven, motivated and thrive in our fast-paced environment.

We want people who think outside the box and challenge the status quo, and offer a nurturing environment to those up for the challenge. To complement our competitive remuneration packages, we have additional benefits such as subsidised meals, free Fat Friday feasts, fruit, uniforms, flexible working arrangements, and most importantly, a senior management team that supports our people.

Our eastern suburbs location has the perks of free parking, state of the art technology and the added bonus of not having to battle the city commute.

“100 prototypes. 150 engineers. Millions of dollars.
Countless iterations to bring one industry-changing idea to life”.

We reserve the right to commence recruitment proceedings immediately.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
