Events Coordinator

 

  • Salary $78,292.24 - $90,819.56 p/a + super
  • Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or related field
  • Class C Drivers licence required

 

Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and is set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments

 

Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professional for the Permanent Full Time role of Events Coordinator. As Events Coordinator, you will report to the Manager of Visitor Experience and Events.

 

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate events or programs, eg Australia Day, Twilight Concert series, within budget
  • Develop, implement and maintain a Council-wide events calendar
  • Support existing and emerging Internal Events committee to ensure consistency and eliminate duplication across Council
  • Review Council events annually based on community, Councillor and senior staff feedback
  • Develop networks/contacts within the events/arts/cultural community
  • Increase funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships, etc
  • Provide monthly reports to the Manager Corporate Communications on work objectives and progress
  • Supervise the Events Officer

 

Required Qualifications/Certificates:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or related field
  • Class C Drivers licence required

 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years working experience in events
  • Experience in the development of community and/or corporate events
  • Previous experience in local government or similar industry
  • Knowledge of social media, public relations and marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to seek and manage corporate sponsorships
  • Ability to prepare event Risk Assessments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in leading and motivating staff and volunteers
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service

 

**As a part of the Events team, this role is 35 hours per week and will be required to undertake evening and weekend work as required**
