Sport Project Officer - Sports Ground Utilisation

  • Full time position until June 2021
  • Demand Planning and Supply Analysis of Council Sports Grounds to ensure Council facilities meet the needs of our growing community
  • $86,648 plus super, plus RDO

 

Sport plays an important role in maintaining and improving the health and wellbeing of the Boroondara community.  In our community, there is a high demand for the use of sports facilities, and we have experienced strong growth in participation by women and girls. Therefore, we are embarking on a project to determine sports ground usage across the municipality in those sports experiencing demand due to an increase in female participation and determine recommendations to address any shortfall in sports ground provision.

 

In this position, you will report to the Team Leader Sport Planning.  This exciting opportunity will enable you to project plan and also lead consultants or agency staff to undertake various aspects of the work. Your keen eye for analysis and planning will ensure the end product delivers our community need.

 

Duties

  • Develop and implement a project plan to undertake a sports ground audit
  • Research and determine key sports experiencing challenges due to increased participation by girls and women
  • Fixture analysis of those key sports across Boroondara sports grounds
  • Lead and oversee temporary staff to in key project elements

 

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in planning and research with respect to sport and recreation issues including knowledge of current and future industry trends (Desirable)
  • Proven skill and ability to collate, analyse, and present planning data (qualitative and quantitative) in a comprehensive and accessible manner  (Essential)
  • Ability to identify issues and have sound policy analysis and development skills (Desirable)
  • Ability to oversee and manage consultants or agency staff   (Desirable)

 

Qualifications & Employment Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in recreation planning, project planning or project management or a relevant field and/or extensive experience in recreation planning or equivalent field   (Desirable)
  • Satisfactory completion of a National Police Record Check.
