Legal Counsel Part Time

This role is initially 3 days per week.

Our Client is a leading supplier of professional services, who in the past 18 months has seen their business develop at a fast pace. Based in impressive new offices in Melbourne CBD, they have an open and inclusive culture with a flexible approach to working arrangements.

Description


Your duties will be diverse but will primarily focus on providing up to the minute legal advice, and the draft, negotiation and review of contracts. This will include:

  • Quickly understand the relevant context and robustly define legal issues;
  • Review all business agreements, including liaising with legal representatives and business unit owners;
  • Review all non-disclosures, codes of conduct and policies to ensure legal compliance;
  • Conduct analysis of legal issues of potential significance to the Organisation;
  • Identify solutions to significant and complex legal issues that ensure balanced business decisions are made to best promote business performance;
  • Prepare lucid and well written legal advice, including readily understandable for non-lawyers;
  • Provide advice on a wide range of issues across operations, such as negotiations with Venue’s and other stakeholders, employment matters, Non-disclosure agreements;
  • Instruction and management of outside panel of legal vendors.

Profile

  • Extensive experience in the provision of legal advice within a commercial environment, in the education sector would be desirable but not essential;
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyse issues and develop and implement effective strategies and solutions;
  • Experience communicating and working alongside a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Current Australian practice certificate with a minimum of 2 years PQE.
