The Role

Paralegals play a vital role in the legal system and in the delivery of legal services. Depending on the firm or organisation, duties may include:

  • Case planning, development, and management
  • Legal research, fact gathering and information retrieval
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Liaising with clients
  • Analysing and summarising documents
  • Fact checking
  • Preparing for and assisting at trial
  • Locating and interviewing witnesses

Skills & Experience

Successful candidates must present with:

  • A solid knowledge of legal terminology, federal and state rules of legal procedure.
  • Solid experience in the legal industry
  • Excellent organisational skills as it is likely you will be managing large volumes of case files.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential as paralegals interact regularly with clients, vendors, court personnel and lawyers.
  • Strong research and writing skills for drafting pleadings, correspondence and other documents.
