THE CLIENT

Our client is an iconic household name, with approx. 70 end users based out of Chandstone, VIC. This permanent opportunity will see you help drive various Desktop and Systems initiatives and take ownership of problem resolution and change management within our small, high performing team.

THE ROLE

As the Desktop Systems Engineer you will be providing both first and second level support to a variety of infrastructure and desktop systems. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Supporting, resolving issues and driving change for infrastructure and desktop systems.
  • Maintenance and administration of reliable, robust and secure technical platforms.
  • Covering help desk calls, tickets and maintaining the technical support function.
  • Conducting technical reviews, providing recommendations and driving best practice.
  • Ensuring security, availability and maximum uptime of Desktop systems.
  • Troubleshooting and providing recommendations for 3rd level support.

THE REQUIREMENTS

Essential to this opportunity is a minimum of 2-3 years experience in Level 1/2 support within a Wintel environment. The ideal applicant will have:

  • Extensive Wintel experience including Windows 10, Office 2013 and Outlook.
  • Experience in supporting VoIP and Video Conferencing systems.
  • Outstanding knowledge of ICT Architecture, Desktop Hardware, Desktop Systems and Server and Network Support.
  • Previous experience in processing Helpdesk phone support.
  • Good Analytical skills with the ability to drive change and improve business practices.
  • The ability to self manage and work in a small team.
  • Good knowledge of Imaging, Image Builds and SOE Builds.
  • Exposure to SAP, Papercut printing software and HP hardware is advantageous but not essential.
