Regional Operations Assistant

THE ROLE

Our client has an exciting and future driven role of Regional Operations Assistant at their grain and storage handling facility located in Grong Grong, in the NSW Riverina Region.

You’ll be a part of a highly effective supply chain and grain operations team, responsible for leading bunker operations and implementing safe and efficient work practices across all onsite operational areas.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, this busy and hands on role sees you providing training and supervision to staff and contractors for a range of activities including; tarping, bunker and plant operations, DOGS, stackers, elevators, conveyors, silos, front end loaders, other site vehicles and grain sampling and weighing equipment.

Leading risk management systems and programs, you’ll be responsible for inventory management programs, safety programs, bunker inspections, tarp management, identification of waste grain, record management and other duties as required.

Committed to a culture of safety at all times, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead bunker operations and work with staff in efficiently and safely all aspects of receiving, storing and turning out product
  • Execution of risk management systems
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Training and supervision to staff and contractors for key onsite activities
  • Optimisation of plant equipment capacities

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You come to us with proven operational skills with a background in agriculture/grain operations, highly regarded. You have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and are willing to play a hands-on role.

With capacity to travel to other sites, you’re flexible, capable and committed to the job.

A team player who will promote a culture of safety through example, to be considered for the job, it’s important you address the following criteria:

  • Experience in a similar role or relatable industry
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn technical details of grain quality/handling
  • Willing to work flexible hours when needed to meet customer requirements
  • Team player who is able to travel to other sites when required
  • Driver’s license (essential)
  • Fumigation Certificate (preferred)
  • Front end loader desirable (preferred)
  • Confined Space Ticket (preferred)
  • First Aid Certificate (Level 2) (preferred)
