CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Company Overview 

Community Support Inc (CSI) is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered entity and provider with the National Disability Insurance Agency providing services across South Australia. Delivering individual support to South Australians of all ages for over 28 years, Community Support Inc provides a range of tailored services that are aligned to its mission to provide “personalised and professional services to lead your life, your way”. Every day, the CSI team provide individual support services to almost 1,000 people living with disability, autism spectrum disorder, mental illness, complex health conditions, recovery support needs, and the aged. 

Role Overview 

Reporting through to the Board, the Chief Executive will provide dynamic leadership both within the organisation and externally, and will develop, implement and report on the organisation’s business plans to align with CSI’s strategic plan in accordance with the requirements of the board. In particular, the Chief Executive will be responsible for reporting and meeting all legal and compliance requirements, including the requirements of contracts with Funding Bodies and with any other entities with which contractual obligations exist. Other responsibilities include: 

  • the effective and efficient delivery of high-quality services reflecting CSI’s Vision, Mission and Culture Code to CSI customers; 
  • the observance of NDIA Regulations, the CSI Constitution and all other relevant statutory requirements, including Industrial Awards; 
  • the development and submission to the Board for approval of annual operating and capital expenditure budgets; 
  • management, implementation and monitoring of the operating business plans to agreed performance targets and of the financial resources according to approved budgets; 
  • ensuring effective governance, risk management and efficient use of CSI resources; 
  • the effective development, monitoring and ongoing improvement of CSI’s quality and continuous improvement systems; 
  • the development of a sustainable, supportive and inclusive workplace reflecting CSI’s Vision, Mission and Culture Code. 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience 

The successful candidate will have proven contemporary leadership, change management and senior management experience in a customer service driven environment across a breadth of upper level management responsibilities, including financial, human services, risk, strategy and environment. Demonstrated skills in the development and implementation of strategic and operational business plans and growth strategies are essential, as well as tertiary qualifications in Human Services (or relevant Management discipline). With proven leadership qualities and a strong strategic mindset, the successful candidate will also possess highly developed negotiation skills, excellent people skills and an ability to ‘think outside the square’.
