Michael Page has been engaged by CDK Stone to recruit an enthusiastic and driven Junior Accountant to join their established and dynamic team. For over 35 years, CDK Stone has been supplying high quality, premium Natural Stone and stone products. Their diverse range now includes Natural Stone, Neolith, Northstone, Tools & Equipment, Stone Care and Stone Working Machinery. Description

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your main responsibilities will focusing on the below:

Financial Accounting:

  • Conduct monthly general ledger reconciliations and clear discrepancies items timely and accurately.
  • Assist with month end and year end processes, including reviewing the P&L and Balance Sheet. Complete journals as necessary.
  • Assist with taxation matters, e.g. payroll and superannuation lodgements
  • Assist with financial analysis on operational expenses and revenue in various perspectives.
  • Assist with financial reporting
  • Review and identify business process improvements.
  • Complete fixed asset capitalisation and maintenance.
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Create new customer accounts and close off all accounts to enable an ongoing accurate record of current customers
  • Process debtor payments, including entering transactions, completing credit card deductions and completing banking when required
  • Liaise with sales representatives in order to influence customers to pay their debts
  • Produce credit notes by liaising with sales representatives on required paperwork, entering credit notes into Pronto and re-creating invoices to include credit notes
  • Reconcile and update customer accounts in order to maintain an ongoing accurate record of where each debt is at

Accounts Payable:

  • Enter purchase invoices into accounting system accurately and in a timely manner
  • Make payments to creditors accurately and timely.
  • Assist with accounts payable analysis to improve creditors payment process.
  • Ad hoc duties as required to maintain accounts payable BAUs during primary person absence

Profile

To be successful, you will be studying towards your CA/CPA qualification. You will have a minimum of 3 years proven experience within a similar role. Your communication skills will vital as it is important to be influencing and engaging with internal stakeholders and articulating information to non financial individuals. Pronto is advantageous however not mandatory with advanced Excel skills.
