Mechanical Engineer - Reliability

The Project

As an industry leader in lithium and lithium derivatives, one of the highest growth markets in the specialty chemicals industry, Albemarle is currently constructing a lithium processing Plant within the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area located close to the regional Western Australian City of Bunbury.

The Plant will process ore from the Talison Mining operation at Greenbushes to produce lithium hydroxide, value-adding by downstream processing with first production scheduled in 2020.

The Role

  • Operate as part of a team of multi-disciplined engineers that will provide engineering excellence, expertise and support to the maintenance execution and planning teams.
  • Ensure asset integrity, performance and availability is optimised through efficient and timely maintenance strategy execution and a disciplined change management focus.
  • Develop asset reliability strategies to support the facility Reliability Centered Maintenance Excellence program through the use of predictive, preventive maintenance, and condition based monitoring
  • Identify and document cost reductions and mechanical service factor improvements, along with safety and environmental improvements
  • Ensure the function (both employees and sub-contractors) complies with statutory legislation and relevant internal and external standards
  • Provide input into plans, budgets, and targets for the Maintenance department and ensure delivery against those targets.
  • Practice and drive root cause failure analysis, collaboratively across the site
  • Develop engineering solutions to failures and other problems that adversely affect plant operations using data analysis techniques that can include: Statistical Process Control, Reliability modeling and prediction, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, Six Sigma (6σ) Methodology, Root-cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA, RCFA)

    The Candidate

    In order to excel in this role you will be an experienced, successful contributor of high powered teams.

    You will be degree qualified with experience (8+ years) in maintenance and reliability engineering in the Chemical Process Industry or similar, together with knowledge and experience with different types of process equipment such as pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, compressors, and pumps. 

    Your proven experience with Reliability Excellence programs, Reliability Centered Maintenance practices, Asset Management Strategies and Root Cause Failure Analysis training will ensure your success in this role.

    The Offer

    A permanent residential position located in the South West region of Western Australia with an attractive salary package including a performance based bonus.

    This role will require time in the Perth EPCM offices and our Australind Offices until site based offices are constructed.  Relocation packages are available for applicants from outside the region.
