This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Patient Administration Officer who is passionate and enjoys the challenges and responsibility of working within a very fast paced specialist clinical environment.

Hobson Healthcare, which recently became part of Healthecare have three sites located in Melbourne’s west. We specialise in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal disorders and day surgery procedures.

Being the first point of contact for patients and doctors alike, it is pivotal that you are well presented, professional and have a happy, welcoming disposition. This is a busy position that would suit someone who has a strong eye for detail and someone that can manage a high workload with confidence. 

Responsibilities:

  • Theatre bookings and managing appointments and/or procedures as situations change.
  • Provide procedure confirmation and hospital admission details.
  • Patient registrations, health fund checks, admissions, reception and switchboard. 
  • Working alongside physicians, nurses and other health professionals to ensure optimum efficiency.
  • Maintaining relationships with the onsite hospital staff
  • Maintain a strict code of confidentiality at all times.

Essential skills:

  • Proven patient administration experience preferably with experience in hospital mainframe system - WebPAS. 
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word & Excel and able to quickly pick up new technology software
  • Superior clerical and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to work within time frames and under pressure
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proven ability to work both autonomously and within a team
