Home-Based Contractor - Transcript Editor - VIC.NSW.WA

Epiq, Australia's premium supplier of transcription services, has offices across Australia providing court reporting, e-discovery, e-trials, and transcription services for government agencies, law firms and private clients. In order to meet the demand for our services, we are seeking skilled and experienced transcribers in every state and territory to produce high-quality transcript of court hearings for our major contracts. 

We are seeking a Home-Based Contractor Transcript Editor (hereafter noted as TE) between 10am and 6pm weekdays with the potential to take on evening/weekend work.

The primary duty of the TE is to ensure transcript is accurately typed in conjunction with our speech recognition software, finalised and prepared for delivery in accordance with the production schedule. 

 

Essential pre-requisites:

  • Typing speed minimum of 75 wpm
  • Excellent English vocabulary and grammar skills
  • Good general and local knowledge
  • Exceptional hearing and comprehension
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Available between 10 am and 6 pm weekdays with an opportunity for evening/weekend work
  • Must be an Australian citizen

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proofread/verify transcripts
  • Produce finalised transcript in accordance with various style guides and jurisdictions


Prior experience of transcribing/editing legal content, including court hearings, is strongly preferred, but candidates without such experience who meet the above pre-requisites and are capable, enthusiastic and quick to learn are encouraged to apply.
