Local Area Marketing Coordinator

Hope & Glory is delighted to be working with Uniting in their search for a Local Area Marketing Coordinator for the Melbourne Metro and Tasmanian region. Uniting is the community services organisation of the Uniting Church in Victoria and Tasmania. They have been working alongside people of all ages in local communities for more than 100 years.

With a team of 7000 skilled and committed individuals, Uniting provides more than 770 programs and services to people of all ages to learn, thrive and enjoy a healthy, happy life.

As the Local Area Marketing Coordinator, you will be a highly-skilled individual who can blend planning abilities with a preparedness to execute. The successful applicant will need broad marketing and communications skills across the mix, including (but not limited to): service marketing and promotion; change communications; local leadership communications support and campaign coordination. The applicant will also be skilled in; media liaison; reputation management and stakeholder management.

The successful candidate will help drive the development and execution of Uniting’s strategic direction at a local level. The role requires a willingness to be present in local communities across greater Melbourne and Tasmania to build direct relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ideally, you may come out of a community-based organisation. However, you could also come from other complex environments such as other large not-for-profits, public health, universities and so on.

• Comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in creating content for a range of marketing channels with a limited budget

• Highly developed communication and confident interpersonal skills demonstrated through effective negotiation with key stakeholders

• Proven ability to work independently

• Demonstrated ability to create engaging content incorporating key messages related to strategic and operational activities in a changing environment.

As part of a team, you will bring positive energy and vision to Uniting’s marketing and communications and be adept at operating in an environment that is experiencing change and transformation. You are a motivated, efficient and focused marketing and communications professional with a strong passion for community, emotional intelligence and sound judgement. You are creative, innovative and possess exceptional influencing skills and attention to detail.
