Transport & Escort Manager Immigration - Barton ACT

About You

You will be skilled in Business and/or Operational Management qualified with extensive experience within the Defence, Detention, or Corrections Escort sector. You possess a sound knowledge of the delivery of transport services in a human service industry, demonstrated knowledge of human resource management, and demonstrated leadership and commercial management abilities. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with all key stakeholders and enhance customer relationships through the development of partnership and collaborative working. You have experience working with deadlines in an accurate and timely delivery and exceptional attention to detail. You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do.

 

About the role

Serco Immigration Services (SIS) is currently seeking a Transport & Escort (T&E) Manager to join the National Operations Team based in Barton, Canberra. This fulltime position will be reporting to the Operations Director Immigration. You will facilitate the T&E services that allow for the efficient management of staff and resources across the entire Detention network.  You will be responsible for the design and implementation of all operating policies and procedures, and input of these into commercial strategies.

 

This position is responsible for the national management and oversight of the Immigration transport and escort function including ownership and implementation of operating policies and procedures, input into the commercial / financial strategies, management of the contract fleet requirements, logistical and operational oversight relating to domestic and international tasking including coordination with Senior Australian Border Force (ABF) and the development of a national assurance and governance framework.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • Significant experience within Detention, Defence or Correctional Escort sector/logistics sector or similar discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of the delivery of transport services in a human service industry
  • Experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team at a senior level
  • A demonstrated track record in delivering excellence in the services industry specialising in Business to Government
  • Experience in working with people from diverse religious beliefs and cultural backgrounds
