In this role

  • The Head of PR in the Global team will be responsible for lifting the profile of our brands globally to maximise growth opportunities and ensure our brands are consistent and powerful. You will build and nurture authentic relationships with key media and Influencers in our core markets, with the objective of driving the storytelling around our brands to engage our customer and consumers around the world.
  • You will manage and orchestrate global releases of our premium wines and manage the winemaker and ambassador calendars to ensure the most effective global utilization, supporting our brand release strategies.
  • You will work with the Global and Local brand teams on developing the PR strategy for our Innovation. You will help seed our innovation agenda with key media globally, ensuring the new products and ideas connect with media and consumers in key markets.
  • You will be a member of the Marketing Leadership Team (MLT) and will play a key role in developing a high performing, strong and cohesive matrix team that together will be responsible for delivering on the brand strategic imperatives and growth targets globally.
  • You will work closely with Marketing Manager China to develop the PR strategy for China for all of our global brands.
  • You will be a strong team member and influencer, able to galvanise the organization by sharing the stories of our brands and building a proud brand and wine culture.

Key accountabilities include

  • You will be responsible for defining the PR strategy for Accolade Wines globally. Determining how we build the profile of our brands and company with key media and Influencers across the world (focused on UK, Europe, Aust, China).
  • You will own the relationships with key media and influencers, as it relates to all Accolade global brands.
  • You will be responsible for the development of the PR strategy for all global brands, working closely with the Global Group Marketing Managers and Winemakers.
  • You will be responsible for the development of an annual PR calendar for all Global Brands – including wine release and NPD activation. Responsible for the delivery of PR Assets and guidelines for global brand premium releases
  • You will develop and lead the awards and accolades strategy and plan, and tools for global leverage of awards and accolades achieved.
  • You will work with Brands and the Winemakers/Ambassadors to define a strategy and annual utilisation plan

Other accountabilities include

  • You will set high expectations for yourself and others and be restlessly dis-satisfied to ensure a continuous improvement mindset throughout the matrix team and across all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for defining the Influencer strategy across our global brands – guiding the regions in managing the execution and content
  • Set KPIs and Monitor and analyze the media coverage and clippings worldwide and ensure reporting is globally consistent

Essential knowledge and skills are

Existing awareness of and relationships with Key Wine media globally (ANZ at a minimum and knowledge of network globally)

  • Global Volume: Total Global Brands
  • Global Net Revenue: Total Global Brands
  • Portfolio of brands across multiple markets
  • Member of the matrix Marketing Leadership Team
  • One Direct report (based in ANZ team)

Required experience is

10+ years PR experience. In depth understanding, knowledge and practical experience in PR with global and regional experience, wine industry experience and ideally Asian market experience.

Essential qualifications are

Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Strategic and Operational interaction with:
    • Executive Leadership Team: Ensuring the ELT are kept informed of PR plans and results
    • Global Brand Teams: Define the role of PR within Global Brand strategies. Be the guardian of exceptional execution at any media events.
    • Regional Brand Teams: Align on regional PR strategies across the global brands and define how the strategy should be executed within a region.
    • Group and Brand Winemaking: Work closely to understand intricate information on our wines and winemaking and determine their calendar requirements to support global wine releases and media engagements
    • Global Planning and Operations: Work closely with to ensure smooth Premium Wine releases and manage PR stock requirements
