Business Development & Contracts Manager

Reporting to the General Manager - Commercial, the Business Development & Contracts Manager is responsible for securing and maintaining long term contracts which contribute to the sustainable growth of Airnorth.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying and developing strategic business relationships with clients within the Northern Territory and nationally;
  • Managing the RPT and Charter accounts of selected corporate and contract customers to ensure commitment to Airnorth’s growth and sustainability;
  • Develop a portfolio of new and existing major accounts with the emphasis on developing new major accounts;
  • Identify customer issues and requirements; crafting proposed solutions and establishing value, negotiate a product or service that ensures value for all stakeholders and meets personal and Company revenue targets;
  • Establish, generate and provide reports on various facets of the contracts and RPT operations including pre-sales,  operational performance and safety & compliance;
  • Manage tender based opportunities, including preparation or tender submissions and review of contracts and associated documentation.
  • Identify and qualify potential high profile customers and their respective opportunities;
  • Actively engage in researching and business development, sales and marketing plans, including overall strategic and operational requirements;
  • Assist with contract management for the business including negotiation of contracts to optimise price and quality;
  • Ensure the contracted goods or services are provided in accordance with the agreed specifications;
  • Ensure all contract risks are reviewed, monitored and managed efficiently and in a timely manner;

We are looking for some who has;

  • 4+ years of successful business development, sales and contract management experience;
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Manager or related discipline;
  • Experience in and understanding of the Aviation, Mining, Energy, Oil & Gas Industries;
  • Experience working for a large corporate business with a broad range of clientele, services and products;
  • Strong commercial acumen;
  • Possesses sound business development and contract negotiation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare tenders submissions and critically appraise tender documentation and contracts;
  • Proven analytical and conceptual thinking skills to ensure effective problem solving and decision making.
