About the business 

Internet Association of Australia (IAA), is a growing and progressive not-for-profit member-based association representing the Internet community. The IAA provides a range of services and resources for members and supports the development of the Internet industry both within Australia and internationally. 

About the role 

  • The provision and troubleshooting of Internet Peering Services 

  • Maintaining and monitoring of Internet Peering Networks 

  • Executing project work - new sites, migrations etc 

  • Identifying and providing input on improvements to networks and process 

  • Participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation

Skills and experience 

A successful profile will include: 

  • Previous demonstrated strong service provider networking knowledge (IPv4/v6, MPLS, OSPF, MP-BGP, VPLS/VPWS) across multiple vendors 

  • Previous demonstrated experience in a similar role 

  • Relevant tertiary degree or equivalent work experience 

  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills with an ability to self-direct 

  • Demonstrated moderate to advanced Linux skills in orchestration and software development 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in software development, especially network automation including tooling and process 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of telecommunications industry both locally and globally  

  • Commitment to outstanding client service, teamwork and results. 

  • Demonstrated organisational and prioritisation skills 

  • Proven creative thinking and “outside the box” solutions 

  • Ability to work outside of business hours when necessary 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia or New Zealand on a permanent basis
