Configuration Officer

The Role:

Do you want to be part of a leading organisation, which dates back 300 years in the shipbuilding industry?

Navantia Australia are currently looking for a highly driven Configuration Officer to join the AOR team at its Garden Island office. You will play an important role in supporting the Configuration Manager and Data Manager in maintaining the Configuration Baseline of the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) platforms.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure the delivered Configuration Baseline Data is accurate and fit-for-purpose, and more specifically, able to meet the requirements for Configuration and Data Management services under the Support Contract
  • Work closely with the Configuration Manager to support transition of the CBD for the AOR support system
  • Ensure the AOR CBLs are correctly updated and maintained In Accordance with the Configuration Management plans / processes
  • Provide Configuration Management advice to the Engineering Team (platform, systems and logistics)
  • Provide management support for all Engineering Change Proposals and Request for Variations to maintain the class CBL
  • Support and minute the Subordinate Configuration Control Boards and the Configuration Control Boards
  • Participate in the conduct of Functional Configuration Audits and Physical Configuration Audits
  • Perform CBD changes on behalf of the Navantia Australia (NAUS) AOR Team, as part of the Engineering Change Process (with review and approval by the Data Manager, as appropriate)
  • Provide advice to the NAUS AOR Team on engineering change scope, to ensure all CBD is updated as appropriate.

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Experience working in the defence or maritime industry (preferable)
  • Extensive experience in Configuration and or Data Management and understanding of Systems Engineering, and more specifically, how Configuration / Data Management fits within Systems Engineering processes
  • Working knowledge in Naval systems (such as Configuration Management Tool-Unified (CMTU) and Asset Management and Planning System (AMPS)
  • Knowledge in the Naval Engineering Change Process
  • Ability to work collaboratively, but can also operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills
  • Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of Baseline
