Training & Development Manager

  • Opportunity to deliver an intensive onboarding program for newly employed MEGT Apprentices based at BHP Olympic Dam site (800kms north of Adelaide).
  • Certificate IV in TAE (40110) essential & mechanical trade experience required
  • Rostered working hours & FIFO / accommodation may be negotiable

About the Role:

This is your opportunity to work for our Recruitment and Management Services (RMS) Division.

Reporting to the RMS Manager SA, you will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of a customised 16-week onsite training program to new Apprentices based at Olympic Dam.

The program is heavily focused on developing Apprentices trade and hand skills, awareness around workplace health and safety and ensuring there are sound communication skills transferable into the onsite operations.

In addition you will be responsible for the co-ordination of the Apprentices training, mentoring and upskilling which includes liaising with the RTO (Registered training Organisation) to monitor progress against the training plan relative to their trade.

You will also be responsible for training & assessment records management.

Requirements:

  • trade background or resources experience with a comprehensive understanding of WHS and risk management
  • demonstrated experience in workplace training delivery, assessment and reporting with Certificate IV in TAE (40110)
  • ability to engage with key stakeholders including apprentices and host employers
  • high level organisational, administrative and Microsoft Suite skills
  • current drivers licence.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Police Check and any State/Territory Working with Children Check (where applicable).
