Callidus Welding Solutions, a division of Callidus Group is based in Perth, Western Australia and offers specialised welding services.  Our highly trained team provides significant experience in the joining, rebuild and overlay of corrosion and wear-resistant alloys for the mineral process, power generation, marine and mining industries. 

Callidus Welding Solutions has a full time position for a Machinist based in our Wangara facility.

This position will report to the Workshop Supervisor and will be responsible for:

  • Machining and fitting of jobs as instructed by Supervisor.
  • Maintenance of all machining/rotary equipment.
  • Ensure all work performed meets the requirements of standards/process instructions as required by the workshop Supervisor.
  • Responsibility of job numbers and material traceability numbers visible on all components.
  • Work within a team environment with a focus on safety, quality.
  • Carry out testing as required.
  • Dimensional inspections and reporting.
  • Fault find and resolve problems.
  • Ordering of machining consumables.
  • Follow all CWS safety quality procedures
  • Available to work overtime, weekends and nightshift as required to meet client requirements
  • Any other tasks or duties deemed necessary by your Supervisor/Manager.

Ideally you will have the following:

  • Trade certificate is essential for this role
  • Previous experience competently operating lathes, horizontal and vertical milling machines
  • Experience in engineering environment, workshop, or on-site preferable
  • Must be willing to work overtime and shift work
  • Experience in valve repair and trouble shooting desired
  • Able to work efficiently and safely with minimum supervision

The successful candidate must have:

  • A recognised Australian or accredited Fitter/Machinist trade certificate 
  • The right to work within Australia
  • A can-do attitude with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Advantageous skills and experience:

  • A manual driving Licence
  • Previous machining experience with Exotic alloys, Austenitic and ferritic stainless steels and super dupex materials
