GP Access After Hours is an established and respected primary health care service provided by Hunter Primary Care.

GP Access after hours provides comprehensive and quality after-hours medical care and advice to people of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and surrounding areas. We are open when regular GP practices are closed. GP Access After Hours operates via a phone triage (Patient streaming service–Call Centre) and clinic appointment system. Our service is staffed with over 240 local GPs, registered nurses and support staff.

GP Access After Hours Service is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurses to work in our Patient Streaming Service (call centre) to provide telephone triage and health care advice using evidence based Clinical decision support software alongside an experienced, integrated team of GPs, RNs and Administration Officers in the after hours periods.

Successful applicants will initially be employed on a casual basis with the view to transition to part-time after probationary period.

Applicants would be required to have availability to work a minimum of 12 hours per fortnight in the “after hours” period including weekday afternoons, weekends and public holidays and possibility of some overnight.
