Librarian

We aim to develop each student’s love of learning, love of others and love of God. In this way, students become people of heartfelt service, intellect, leadership and integrity. Our goal is to grow students’ critical thinking and personal capacity, equipping them with the skills necessary to be successful, productive and responsible global citizens.

We are looking for an experienced, capable and motivated teacher librarian, to join us in 2020 to:

  • Develop our newly reinvigorated library and library program
  • Facilitate and support teaching and learning by enhancing the K-12 curriculum
  • Foster literacy and love of literature in the school community

Requirements:

  • current teaching qualification with proven ability to develop strong rapport with students
  • university degree or equivalent in librarianship
  • experience in a similar role, assisting teacher and students to source relatable texts and relevant subject resources
  • experience using library systems, in accordance with industry principles and standards 
  • experience using education resource management systems and online databases
  • knowledge of print and digital copyright regulations, academic referencing and bibliographic requirements
  • proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • excellent communication
  • resourcefulness
  • high capacity to deal with information and people
  • avid reader with a love of learning and breadth of literary interests
  • an active Christian faith and current church commitment
