Project Manager (Crushing)

About the business and the role

MLG Oz is a West Australian owned and operated business with operations located throughout Western Australia and the Northern Territory. MLG commenced operations in 2000, as a small business providing contracting services to BHP Billiton.  Today MLG's business has grown to now employ in excess of 600 employees and contractors, operating across 19 sites delivering a service offering to a range of blue-chip mining and civil customers with a focus on haulage, crushing and screening, earth moving services and construction material supply.

About the role:

We are currently seeking experienced Project Manager - Crushing to join our Crushing team, this role is:

  • Permanent, full time;
  • FIFO xPerth, 2/1 roster;

Reporting to the General Manager - Crushing, the Project Manager – Crushing is responsible for the coordination and management of all hands-on aspects of the operations of this 24-hour site, including:

  • Establishing strong client relationships and managing those relationships on a daily basis;
  • Providing strong, effective leadership to all site personnel including daily management roster staff;
  • Identifying employee training needs and performance management;
  • Coordinate maintenance by implementing and managing a tailored scheduled maintenance program;
  • Developing and managing site specific systems and procedures.
  • Recruitment and managing rostering of employees
  • Incident reporting and investigation
  • Managing site purchases and using purchasing system (PRONTO)

To be considered for this role, successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

  • Relevant qualifications (or experience) or trade background and supervisory experience;
  • Previous experience in the mining, mobile crushing or quarrying industry;
  • Commercial acumen and computer literacy;
  • Drive and commitment with a high attention to detail; and
  • Strong time management, communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Remuneration will be discussed with shortlisted applicants. This role offers a competitive salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
