Pricing Analyst

As part of Automotive Holdings Group (AHG), the AHG Refrigerated Logistics division, inclusive of Rand Transport, Scott’s Refrigerated Freightways, J.A.T Refrigerated and Harris Refrigerated,  are one of Australia’s largest refrigeration and cold storage businesses.

AHG RL currently have an opening for a Pricing Analyst located at our Homebush office.  

Working within a team environment, the primary purpose for this role is to ensure yield objectives of the business are met when preparing quotes tendering for new business along with ensuring rate structure disciplines and controls are adhered to.


The key functions of this role will include:

  • Preparation of transport selling rates for new business tenders and for additional work from existing customers, e.g. additional lanes or volumes
  • Establishing and maintaining standard rate cards for general application
  • Presentation of selling rates to Commercial team members
  • Review customer/proposed customer feedback and work with Commercial team to address
  • Assist in preparing tender and other proposal documentation
  • Work with Operations in identifying transport network capacity and determine corresponding impact on proving impact on pricing
  • Work with Finance to review transport costing data, identify trends and update pricing models accordingly
  • Analysis as required to support yield improvement objectives-modelling of various scenarios and identifying opportunities for improved performance
  • Maintaining base data and model inputs as required
  • Ensuring rate tables updated in underlying systems
  • Assist in preparing yield performance reports
  • Contribute to development of costing and pricing models

In this role you will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and associated industry qualifications
  • Reasonable exposure to the transport industry
  • Knowledge of pricing concepts and rate structures generally prevalent in the transport industry (e.g. zoning, weigh/pallet breaks)
  • Experienced in analysing large volumes of data and summarising and presenting results and trends to stakeholders
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including commercial, operations and finance teams
  • Precision with a high level of numerical accuracy
  • Adept at extracting manipulating and analysing large volumes of data
  • Capable at identifying key messages, trends and conclusions from analysis and presenting clearly and concisely, generally in summarised manner
  • Knowledge of transport management system and billing systems in large transaction volume environment
  • High proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, Word and Powerpoint applications
